Role Overview

We are seeking experienced Linux Migration Engineers to support large-scale modernisation programmes, migrating Linux workloads from physical servers and VMware environments into AWS and Stromasys-supported architectures.

You will be responsible for discovery, remediation, automation and executing migrations during planned cutover windows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Linux migrations from legacy hardware or VMware platforms into AWS.
  • Perform dependency mapping, compatibility checks and remediation activities.
  • Produce detailed migration runbooks, including pre-/post-validation and rollback.
  • Participate in cutover weekends and delivery within outage windows.
  • Automate builds, configuration, testing and validation using scripting and tooling.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, application and cloud teams to ensure smooth transitions.

Experience Required

  • Strong hands-on Linux engineering across RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu or SUSE.
  • Proven experience in infrastructure or cloud migration projects.
  • Scripting and automation experience (Bash, Python, Ansible, etc.).
  • Background working in large-scale transformation or enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of cloud landing zones, networking basics and migration best practices.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Stromasys-supported or emulated environments.
  • Exposure to AWS migration tooling (SMS, DMS, DataSync, Application Migration Service).
  • Knowledge of VMware, storage or networking that may impact migration waves.
