Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Data Management Specialist to support the design, governance, and optimisation of enterprise data systems. This role focuses on ensuring that data is accurate, accessible, secure, and aligned with organisational needs. You will work across multiple departments to maintain high-quality data environments, streamline data processes, and support analytics, reporting, and operational solutions.

This role is ideal for someone with strong knowledge of data governance, data modelling, and database management, combined with a strategic mindset and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enforce data governance policies and standards

  • Design and implement data models, schemas, and database structures

  • Support data migration, integration, and transformation projects

  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and quality across systems

  • Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to enhance data workflows

  • Manage and optimise enterprise databases, both on-premise and cloud-based

  • Monitor data performance, troubleshoot issues, and propose improvements

  • Conduct periodic audits to maintain compliance with data protection regulations

  • Assist in defining metadata, data dictionaries, and documentation

  • Work with stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions

Key Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices

  • Experience with SQL databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL

  • Knowledge of data modelling techniques (conceptual, logical, and physical)

  • Familiarity with data integration and ETL tools

  • Understanding of data quality management and auditing processes

  • Ability to interpret complex data structures and design scalable solutions

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Desirable:

  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Snowflake, or Databricks

  • Knowledge of master data management (MDM) solutions

  • Familiarity with BI and analytics tools

  • Understanding of GDPR, data security, and regulatory compliance

  • Experience with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell)
